What is Mental Health Stigma to Black Women?

In this week’s episode of Psychologize U we invite psychologist Kalynda Smith on the podcast to discuss the challenges of being a black woman in high-performing fields. This discussion was inspired by the mental health needs of Simone Biles, who took a break from the 2021 Olympics. We discussed how it can be challenging to protect an African American identity in the workplace, and how important it is to understand ourselves when trying to traverse the world in black skin.
